The State of Andhra Pradesh was formed on October 1, 1953 comprising the Telugu speaking areas of the erstwhile Madras Presidency. It was later merged on November 1, 1956 with the Telengana region of Hyderabad under the States Reorganisation Act of 1956. It is bordered by Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. | ||
